Dr. Jack Kruse – Bitcoin Time Hacks: Mastering Time for Health and Longevity
Time is the most valuable asset on the planet — more precious than Bitcoin. On the BTC Prague stage, I shared 21 practical “time hacks” to help tech-heavy Bitcoiners protect their health, extend their lives, and reclaim sovereignty over the one resource no one can mine more of.
Your Morning Is Your Most Valuable Block
The first hack is simple: get outside at AM sunrise for 30 to 60 minutes. If you’re a tech abuser — and if you’re in this space, you probably are — your mitochondria need it. You don’t have to stare at the sun. Just let your eyes sense it. This activates a protein called CCO in your mitochondria and helps your body produce a special type of structured water. That alone is 80% of the story.
Light Breaks, Blue Blockers, and Better Bulbs
Every 25 to 30 minutes of heavy cognitive work, step outside. Tell your boss you smoke — but instead, take light breaks. Wear shirts made from sun-permeable fabrics like Cool Tan or Kiniki so you get the benefit even clothed. Inside, wear blue-blocking glasses that filter up to 550nm. They protect melatonin in your brain, which means better sleep, better healing, and fewer doctor visits. Also — swap your LED bulbs for incandescent or halogen. Blue light from LEDs destroys melatonin, dehydrates you, raises blood sugar, and spikes insulin. This is not a small problem.
Structure Your Day Around Circadian Biology
Your brain follows a circadian timing mechanism. Do your hardest cognitive work between 11am and 1pm — that’s peak brain performance. Creative work belongs in the 9–11am window. Save email, Zoom calls, and low-value tasks for later in the day when your brain is winding down. And skip the lunch break when you can — use that midday peak for your most important work instead.
Delegate, Set Boundaries, Break Big Tasks Down
As your Bitcoin stack grows, start delegating. I delegate superfluous tasks to my nurse — and I take good care of her for it. Protect your time from time vampires: unnecessary Zoom calls, meetings that could be a message, people who drain without adding. I shifted my surgery schedule from 6am to 8am starts so the first two hours of every day are mine. Break large projects into smaller chunks — bouldering, I call it. Multitasking is a myth. Your brain has limited channels. Work with them, not against them.
Water, Grounding, and Protecting Your Brain
Drink deuterium-depleted water mixed with fluoride-free salt while you work. The more of a tech abuser you are, the more you need it. Get barefoot on the ground — grounding gives you free electrons knocked loose by the sun. Limit EMF exposure. Steve Jobs, Hal Finney, Paul Allen — all billionaires, all dead before 63. I don’t want anyone in this community facing that. The youngest Alzheimer’s patient I’ve ever seen was 27 years old, working in tech. This is not a boomer disease.
Sleep, Cooling, and Evening Rituals
Sleep in complete darkness. Use candles or fire in the evening instead of LEDs to preserve melatonin. Cool your sleeping environment — melatonin works better when your hypothalamus drops 3 to 4 degrees. Try pushing your tongue to the roof of your mouth before sleep to open your airway and reduce mouth breathing. A cold shower or cold plunge before bed also helps. And yes — a neurosurgeon is telling you that low-dose THC edibles can help tech abusers
