Many see the rise of Bitcoin as a store of value—with institutional giants like BlackRock entering the space—as the death of its cypherpunk dream. I argue the opposite. The path to Bitcoin as a global medium of exchange requires its consolidation as a store of value first. ETFs, corporate adoption, and even sovereign holdings aren’t diversions from the original vision, but necessary steps to make Bitcoin truly viable for everyday transactions.
