Why the Future Grid Starts Off-Grid

Texas is dumping terawatt-hours of clean power the grid can't absorb. Europe is curtailing massive amounts of wind, and there is orphaned hydro across Southeast Asia. Sub-Saharan Africa has more renewable energy potential than it could ever use, and 600 million people without electricity.

Different problems, same root cause: stranded energy with no economic bridge to demand. Bitcoin mining is that bridge. Bitcoin makes sure no energy is wasted, and more importantly it is building the grid that nobody else will fund.
