As global demand drives Bitcoin's price higher, individuals in emerging markets are increasingly being priced out of buying it on the open market. For them, accumulation via exchange is becoming a privilege of the wealthy, not a viable strategy for the masses. Simultaneously, we are approaching a tipping point where sellers of real assets refuse depreciating fiat entirely, demanding sats instead.

This keynote explores the inevitable shift toward circular Bitcoin economies where earning, not buying, is the primary method of acquisition. Drawing from ground-level work with EasySats in Namibia for the last 3 to 4 years, I will demonstrate how laborers, vendors, and consumers are bypassing fragile/expensive banking rails to earn and spend Bitcoin daily. We will examine the dual pressure of being priced out of buying Bitcoin mentally, while being priced out of spending fiat, and what this means for the future of work and trade.
